Commodore Perry Estate, Auberge Resorts Collection

Originally built in 1928, the Commodore Perry Estate is a retreat comparable to no other in the Austin area. The hotel was once the mansion where Edgar Perry and his wife, Lutie, would throw lavish parties in the opulence of the Great Gatsby era. Under Auberge Resorts Collection, the mansion has been reimagined as a country getaway where Italian marble floors and extravagant chandeliers and furnishings still take place of pride. The hotel is home to just 54 rooms and one restaurant, though dining is also available in many other effortlessly glamorous areas, from the Solarium to the Living Room and the Terrace. Lutie’s Garden Restaurant has been imagined by designer Ken Fulk and it draws inspiration from the estate’s gardens, right down to the menu crafted from seasonal, organic ingredients, many of which are grown in-house. The garden is also the setting for the estate’s wellness experiences, from the pool that channels the charm of vintage Palm Springs to walks and hikes, and restorative stretches amid landscaped greenery.
