Casa Cipriani New York occupies an iconic building that’s one of the last remaining Beaux-Arts style ferry terminals of the 20th century and that’s just the beginning of its story. The hotel also has the feel of a true private members-only club and a waterfront position reminiscent of the days of Harry’s Bar in Venice. To create this atmosphere, the hotel called on architect and designer Thierry Despont who imagined the hotel with just 47 rooms and suites, and multiple food and beverage joints with interiors of lacquered mahogany and custom Italian furnishings created exclusively for Casa Cipriani. Together, they capture the glitz of Old New York, like the Club Restaurant with its upholstered armchairs and gilded glass murals, and torchier lamps inspired by the dining rooms of French ocean liners of the 30s. The hotel is also home to a Jazz Café where dinner is served to live music, the Club Bar, the Promenade Bar and the Living Room with its colorful art deco furnishings and relaxed seating around a central fireplace. In more ways than one, Casa Cipriani offers a unique different experience of New York… one that’s equal parts elegant dining hub and boutique hotel.
