Decades ago, this was a quaint little auberge for those venturing to Hanoi, drawn by the opera house. One visitor was so captivated by its charm that he decided to transform it into a hotel, now known as Capella Hanoi. Today, the hotel boasts 47 rooms and suites, each a tribute to a celebrated name from the world of opera. Whether it’s a nod to Sarah Bernhardt, Eleonora Duse, or the legendary Ballets Russes, each room tells a story steeped in history. Vintage costumes, rare stage props, and set designs bring to life the tales of these iconic figures. Your journey continues with the restaurants and bars at Capella Hanoi. Dining here is a theatrical affair, from the vibrant ambiance of Backstage, where antique trunks and stage props set the scene, to the sophisticated Diva’s Lounge, where you can settle into a plush seat at the antique zinc bar or beside a 1700s fireplace. The hotel is also home to The Hudson Rooms, known for oysters and caviar, and Koki, the only Michelin-starred Japanese restaurant in Vietnam.
